EUP Academy

The EUP ACADEMY is organised annually and consists of a series of courses and training programmes targeted at teachers, professionals, educators, trainers and youth.

The followed approach in all courses is based on transdisciplinarity, collaborative and experiential learning.

The courses take place in Xylokastro, Greece, in two slots every year:

EU Funding Opportunities: the Erasmus+ KA220 programme

This 5-day intensive course is targeted at education professionals, school heads, and NGO professionals who are interested in pursuing EU funding opportunities in the field of education and training. During the course participants will learn how to read the guide and develop ideas aligned to the European priorities as well as how to prepare a successful proposal.

Sustainable Tourism: An introduction

This 5-day intensive course is targeted at current and future tourism professionals, hotel owners, tourism SMEs, as well as professionals in travel agencies, destination management and public authorities. During the course participants will be introduced to the main concepts behind sustainable tourism and will work on the replication of selected good practices

Arts as pedagogical tool

This 5-day intensive and experiential course is targeted at teachers at all levels, education professionals, trainers and educators. During the course, participants will be introduced to the pedagogical theories and practice of integrating arts (and especially theatre) in the teaching and learning process.

Leadership Skills: Theory and Practice

This 5-day intensive course is targeted at professionals and managers in the education sector (formal, non-formal, adult and youth) at all levels.During the course participants will be introduced to the main concepts and theories behind leadership and will be engaged in interactive and scenario-based activities to increase their knowledge and competence on leadership and management

Digital Tools in Education

This 5-day intensive course is targeted at teachers, trainers, educators and youth workers that are interested in integrating digital tools in their teaching practice. Digital technologies can make the learning process more interactive and engaging. During this course participants will learn how to develop an online course and how to use specific digital tools in the classroom

Tackling gender-based stereotypes

This 5-day intensive course is targeted at young people, youth workers and education professionals who are interested in the prevention and elimination of gender-based stereotypes. During the course a comparative analysis of detecting stereotypes in popular culture media will be conducted.

Venue

The venue of the courses of EUP Academy is conveniently located at Green Village Hotel, in Xylokastro Greece.

Xylokastro is a beautiful Mediterranean seaside town in north-east Peloponnese, 100 km from Athens, and is conveniently connected to both the Athens city centre and the International Airport by train. There are many sites of cultural and historical interest in the close by area such as the Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplio etc.

Green Village provides 20 independent villas inside a Mediterranean garden full of lemon, orange and olive trees, together with a restaurant, a cafe-bar, a swimming pool and a conference room.

Cultural activities including tours in heritage sites are included in the programme of each course.
